~ The Green Dragon hills to the East represents the central requirement of a good landscape.

~ The White Tiger hills to the West should merge with the Green Dragon hills to create aupicious Qi.

~ The Red Phoenix has a landscape to the South and should be an opened space that is low-lying and flat, signifying a life of ease and luxury.

~ The Black Tortoise range of hills to the North gives support and protection.

Locating the Celestial Creatures

Look out from your main door.

On your left is the Green Dragon.

On your right is the White Tiger.

The front of your home is called the Red Phoenix.

The back is called the Black Tortoise.

Green Dragon and White Tiger

The Dragon symbolizes Yang and represents power.

The Tiger symbolizes Yin and represents negative qualities.

~ Look out of your main door. If the house on your left is higher than the house on your right, it means the Dragon is controlling the Tiger. This is auspicious!

Red Phoenix and Black Tortoise

The Red Phoenix refers to the front of the home, which should be an opened space to signify wealth.

The Black Tortoise refers to the back of the home. It should have a strong support to symbolize stability and strength.

The main door should not be blocked, and should preferably face an opened ground. It is good if the front of the home faces a pool of water, a gentle slope or playground.

This opened ground, represents water, and should be lower than the home.

The back of the home symbolizes support, should be higher than the home.

Tall buildings can substitute for mountains and can give good support to the home.

A solid rear boundary wall is also acceptable as support.

Hedges and trees behind the home can act as support if the branches are not overgrown.

Water Dragon

Feng Shui suggests that a home should be backed by a mountain, with the front facing a pond, stream or river.

This body of water in front of your home is known as the Water Dragon !

The water is responsible for attracting and accumulating quality Qi.

An artificial waterway or drain can also be utilized as a Water Dragon in place of a pond, stream or river.
